ABOUT

SatiSH GOGINENI

Satish Gogineni is a former financial risk manager turned full-time adventurer and mental health advocate whose journey began with his first marathon in 2007 and expanded into mountaineering in 2014. He has summited five of the world's 8,000-meter peaks—Everest, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri—and in 2022, became the fastest Indian to complete the Everest-Lhotse double summit in under 19 hours. He has completed 14 marathons, including four World Marathon Majors, and trained extensively in technical climbing.

In January 2025, Satish achieved a historic milestone by skiing 1,133 km solo and unsupported from Hercules Inlet to the South Pole over 51 days, hauling a 126 kg sled through whiteout conditions and temperatures below -40°C, becoming the first and only Indian to complete a solo, unsupported South Pole expedition.

When he's not pushing his limits in extreme environments, Satish is a full-time adventurer and mental health advocate based in San Francisco, California. In a defining moment, he quit his job as a Financial Risk Manager at Bank of America to pursue the South Pole expedition—a decision that transformed his life from corporate risk management to leading expeditions and mental health advocacy. Originally from Hyderabad, he moved to the U.S. to pursue higher education, earning both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Satish is also an avid landscape photographer, capturing the raw beauty of the mountains, ice sheets, and remote landscapes he explores during his expeditions.
